Calumet City, IL — Contractor License Bond

Calumet City's 2026 contractor-registration form calls for a $10,000 surety naming the City, excluding plumbing contractors. Check that class decision and accepted form before applying through Propeller; registration does not itself supply a work permit.

What this bond does

Prepare the City-specific surety attachment for a contractor registration in a class that calls for it.

Who needs it
Calumet City General, HVAC, electrical or roofing registrants subject to the 2026 form's surety instruction, rather than plumbers following the separate credential process.
Who it protects
The City-named accepted instrument determines the secured conditions. The form separately requests liability insurance and conditions registration on City-ordinance compliance; those application statements are not themselves the bond's claims wording.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the City form's contractor class

The form separates General, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and roofing. Its insurance-and-$10,000-surety instruction expressly excludes plumbing contractors. Plumbers instead have stated 055/058 credentials, an in-person application instruction and a letter of intent for each permit application.

Other listed attachments include a current business license from another city or town, a current company license for electricians, an EPA credential for HVAC and a roofing license. Keep City registration credentials separate from what the surety actually asks you to supply.

Finish the City submission after issuance

Have the legal company name, assigned contractor type, City recipient and accepted dates ready for the provider application. The existing option displays no amount or duration; the City's posted $10,000 figure is not a new provider-card selection.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Check the issued form and deliver it as directed to Inspectional Services with the actual registration submission. The City form separately assigns responsibility for obtaining a permit before work; a bond application or registration is not that permit.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Confirm the actual City registration class and plumbing exclusion.
  2. Have the accepted $10,000 City-named form where applicable.
  3. Match company, recipient and requested dates.
  4. Keep other-city/trade credentials and insurance separate.
  5. Check issued security, registration delivery and project permit as distinct steps.

Questions about this bond

Does the $10,000 line apply to plumbers?

The 2026 form expressly excludes plumbing contractors. Follow its stated credential and in-person process and confirm the current City request before buying surety.

Can I use Calumet Park's form?

This request names the City of Calumet City. Calumet Park is a different municipality; obtain the exact accepted City form rather than substituting a neighboring recipient.

Does buying the bond let me begin work?

No. The City's registration and project-permit process remain separate. Check the issued document and complete the actual City approvals.
