Carpentersville, IL — Contractor License Bond

Carpentersville's registration matrix marks $10,000 surety for electricians and General contractors, subs and other unlisted classes—not every state-licensed trade. Confirm your row before applying through Propeller, then submit registration separately from a permit.

What this bond does

Prepare the surety attachment marked for the applicant's actual Village contractor-registration category.

Who needs it
Carpentersville applicants whose registration matrix row calls for the $10,000 surety, rather than assuming a bond for every holder of a State license.
Who it protects
The accepted form defines its secured conditions. The registration application separately asks the applicant to attest to accurate information and ordinance compliance; it is not the surety instrument itself.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the class matrix, not only the general checklist

The application marks the $10,000 bond and insurance columns for electricians and for General contractors, subs and all others. Its plumbers, roofers, fire protection and other Illinois-licensed row lists the State license/registration without a bond check. Ask staff to confirm your row rather than applying the web page's general $10,000 checklist indiscriminately.

The form separates company name from applicant name and lets the applicant be an owner or employee. Match the legal principal to the actual company/request; do not substitute an employee's personal name merely because that person submits the application.

Keep registration out of the permit submittal

The current forms page directs a complete PDF registration submission by email, using Contractor Registration 2026 as the subject, and specifically says not to combine it with a permit submittal. It also says subcontractors register.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. After issuance, check the accepted form, principal, recipient, amount and dates before adding it to the actual registration package as directed. The provider application is not registration processing or receipt of the Village's contractor identifier.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Identify the checked requirements for the actual registration row.
  2. Have the accepted $10,000 form where the matrix marks surety.
  3. Keep the company principal distinct from an employee applicant.
  4. Prepare the registration PDF package separately from any permit.
  5. Check issued details and the Village's current email instructions.

Questions about this bond

Does every state-licensed contractor have the bond box checked?

No. The form's State-licensed plumber, roofer, fire-protection and other State-license row lists credentials without a surety check. Have the Village confirm the applicable category.

Should I combine it with my building-permit application?

The current Village forms page expressly says not to combine contractor registration with the permit submittal. Follow its separate registration instructions.

Is the employee applicant automatically the principal?

The form separates company and applicant and allows an employee to apply. Use the actual accepted legal principal, not the submitting employee's name by default.
