What this bond does

Secures the identified Cheney ROW permit duties, covered city costs, damage/restoration and warranty undertaking.

Who needs it
Applicants and contractors whose Cheney excavation, curb/sidewalk, access, fixed-object or street-improvement permit requires performance security.
Who it protects
The City of Cheney is the obligee. The form also addresses lawful injury/property-damage claims arising from covered work and expressly benefits damaged persons; it is not limited to a private owner's construction-completion promise.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Match the work to the actual permit category

Public Works distinguishes excavation, curb/sidewalk work, access connections, fixed-object ROW licenses and street improvements. It directs applicants to this bond when the applicable permit requires performance security; not every category automatically carries an identical requirement.

The official form leaves both amount and effective period blank. Obtain the City Engineer's figures and identify the legal principal, work location and covered permit before using the existing Propeller Purchase Now option.

Keep the warranty and prior obligations in view

The form secures permit-compliant completion, covered Engineer costs, city-property damage, indemnity and a road-repair/construction warranty for two years from final inspection. Expiration does not relieve obligations incurred before expiration.

If covered fees/charges reach the bond amount, the Engineer can require increased security; the form says the associated permits become void if it is not increased. Confirm coverage for the actual permit rather than treating the amount as unlimited job capacity.

File with the Engineer before relying on the permit

Arrange principal/surety execution and return the accepted form to the City of Cheney Engineer, as the instrument directs. Obtain the actual permit and work/inspection instructions separately.

The form allows surety cancellation on at least 30 days' written notice to the Engineer. On cancellation, the principal's right to operate under the permit is suspended until replacement security is filed; notice is not permission to keep working unsecured.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Identify the work, permit category, location and legal principal.
  2. Obtain the Engineer's required amount and effective period.
  3. Arrange provider issuance, execution, Engineer filing and separate permit approval.
  4. Keep final-inspection/warranty records and maintain accepted security while the permit requires it.

Questions about this bond

Does the two-year warranty start at purchase?

The city form measures the road-repair/construction warranty from final inspection, not provider purchase or execution.

Does the city form set one amount for every permit?

No. The amount and effective period are blank for the actual request. The Engineer can also require increased security if covered fees/charges exhaust its capacity.

Can work continue after surety cancellation?

The form suspends operation under the permit on cancellation until another bond is filed. It requires at least 30 days' written notice to the Engineer.
