What this bond does

Prepare the class-specific contractor/license security identified in Coal City's registration requirements.

Who needs it
Contractors registering with the Village of Coal City Building Department under its actual General or other-contractor request.
Who it protects
The accepted bond form supplies the secured conditions. The Village treats continuing bond and insurance validity as part of registration; neither is the project permit itself.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use both the application and its linked requirements

The Building Department currently links the October 2026 registration form alongside the contractor rules. The application identifies business, ownership and trade but does not repeat the bond line. The separate rules list General at $20,000 and all others at $10,000.

The rules say that if insurance or the bond expires during registration, the replacement certificate and bond must be sent to the department or registration is suspended. Registration's January–December year does not create a displayed duration on the existing Propeller option.

Send the issued security through the actual Village process

The Building Department expressly says contractor registration, insurance certificate and bond can be emailed to its permits address. That is a Village-specific instruction, not a reason to assume other municipalities accept emailed surety.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Prepare the accepted class, principal, Village recipient, sum and dates, then check the issued document before submitting as directed. The application separately says to obtain a building permit before starting work.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Read the current application with the linked contractor requirements.
  2. Confirm General versus other classification and the accepted $20,000 or $10,000 sum.
  3. Match legal principal, Village recipient and actual dates.
  4. Check continued insurance and surety validity during registration.
  5. Review issued details before the Village's stated email submission.

Questions about this bond

The updated application has no bond line. Can I ignore it?

The Building Department links that application with separate contractor requirements listing the bond. Read both and confirm the actual class with the Village.

Does every Coal City contractor use $10,000?

The posted rules distinguish General at $20,000 from others at $10,000. Do not select an amount only from the broad catalog title.

Can the bond be emailed with registration?

The actual Building Department page says registration, insurance certificate and bond can be emailed to its permits address. Check and execute the issued instrument first and follow current Village directions.
