Davison, MI — Right Of Way Bond

The City of Davison's selected sewer/water/ROW/driveway application requires the contractor's $1,500 surety for right-of-way work and says to present it when obtaining the permit. Arrange the DPW inspection before backfilling; buying a bond does not authorize the excavation.

What this bond does

City of Davison, Michigan security for the contractor's permitted right-of-way work, distinct from Township or County road requirements.

Who needs it
The actual contractor providing ROW security, with the owner or owner-authorized permit applicant and responsible person correctly identified.
Who it protects
The request concerns the identified City permit and public-way work/restoration. It is not a general construction licence or a bond for all work on the property.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the City's current combined application

The current City application index selects document1532 for sewer, water, driveway and right-of-way permits. It asks the applicant to identify the permit type, property/parcel, owner, contractor and responsible person and to include the site or plot plan. Its certification requires ownership or the owner's authority to apply.

The form states a $1,500 surety requirement for contractor work in the ROW, presented when obtaining the permit, and says the bond will be held for one year. It does not define that holding period as a supplied one-year product or establish its starting/release date. Confirm the required form, principal/City recipient and actual dates with the City.

Schedule DPW inspection before covering the work

For the sewer work covered by its guidelines, DPW must inspect before any backfilling. The current packet makes the contractor responsible for needed cement/asphalt replacement to City specifications and requires safe barricading. Arrange the actual inspection and restoration sequence rather than assuming the bond replaces those duties.

Purchase Now opens Propeller. The option displays no fixed amount or term. Match the City's required form, parties, sum, scope and dates with the issuer, arrange execution and accepted filing, and obtain the permit from the City before work.

The City separately directs electrical, mechanical and plumbing permits through the State of Michigan. This ROW application does not supply all other approvals. Keep DPW inspection and completion records and obtain the actual security-release instruction after the required holding period.
