What this bond does

Security requested for the applicant's actual East Dundee curb, street-cut, utility or other public-ROW work.

Who needs it
The responsible legal applicant identified in the Village's accepted ROW security request, coordinated with the owner, contractor or utility company.
Who it protects
The accepted instrument defines the Village's secured duties. Its application includes work/restoration and applicant-indemnity responsibilities, but these do not automatically establish every bond condition.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Show the affected area and other approvals

The application asks for a survey highlighting work, activity type, completion/restoration schedule, and parkway-only, half-street or full-street location. It separately lists a $25,000 surety bond, insurance, applicable traffic control and other road permits. The utility process requires applicable IDOT, Kane/Cook County, Township or other jurisdictional permissions before a Village permit can issue; an East Dundee bond is not a substitute for them.

Coordinate the applicant, utility company and inspections

The utility company or its representative can apply through the Village utility process, which also addresses utility registration. The ROW application separately identifies owner, general contractor, applicant and contractor and lists activity-specific inspections with at least 24 hours' advance scheduling. Ask how insurance/security items apply to a homeowner rather than assuming an insurance exception waives bonding. Purchase Now opens Propeller; the option displays no fixed amount or term. Obtain the accepted form, principal, recipient and dates, check issuance and filing, then secure actual work approval and arrange restoration, inspections and release.

Questions about this bond

Does Village security replace a County or IDOT permit?

No. The utility instructions require applicable other-jurisdiction permissions before the Village permit can issue.

Can a homeowner assume no bond is needed?

Ask the Village how the checklist applies to the actual applicant and work. Do not treat an insurance-related exception as a confirmed waiver of the separately listed $25,000 security.

Are the same inspections needed for every activity?

No. The application lists different curb, apron, utility-improvement and repair inspections and says not every application requires each one. Arrange required inspections at least 24 hours ahead.
