What this bond does

Supply the City's blanket security for permitted sidewalk and curb-cut construction during the dates entered on the accepted bond.

Who needs it
Contractors asked by Findlay to provide its blanket sidewalk and curb-cut construction bond.
Who it protects
The form binds the principal and surety to Findlay for faithful completion of permitted work to City specifications, ordinances and satisfaction. Its security remains subject to the form's completion and City-acceptance conditions.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the form that names sidewalks and curb cuts

Findlay's form approved by the Director of Law on April 9, 2025 describes the work as constructing sidewalks and curb cuts within the City. It names Findlay as obligee and leaves the principal, sum and beginning and ending dates for completion.

The blanket description does not waive permits: the obligation refers to work for which permits are granted. If your request concerns opening a street rather than sidewalk or curb-cut construction, have Engineering identify the correct instrument before selecting this option.

Confirm the sum, dates and continuation

The published form does not set a universal sum or prefill a one-year term. Obtain those details from Engineering. It allows extension with a surety-signed continuation and makes the liability noncumulative, rather than adding another full bond sum for each continuation.

The surety may cancel on 30 days' written notice to the City, but liability accrued before cancellation survives. The form also addresses completion and City acceptance. Do not treat the term ending or the last day of work as automatic release of earlier obligations.

Review the issued instrument before filing

Continue to Propeller with the current City form and confirmed details. Check the legal principal, City recipient, work description, sum, dates and signatures on the issued bond.

Follow Engineering's filing instructions and obtain the permits for the planned work. Bond issuance does not approve a particular curb cut or establish that the City has accepted the completed repairs.

Questions about this bond

Does this form cover sidewalk work as well as curb cuts?

The City's published blanket form expressly describes constructing sidewalks and curb cuts within Findlay. Confirm that this matches the work and permits in your request.

Is this the same as the blanket street-openings bond?

No. Findlay publishes a separate form whose stated work is street openings. Ask Engineering which instrument fits the activity rather than using the word blanket alone.

Does the form specify a fixed amount or annual term?

No. The sum and term dates are blank. Engineering must confirm what to enter for the requested security.

Does cancellation remove liability for earlier work?

No. Although the surety can cancel with 30 days' written notice to Findlay, the form preserves liability accrued before cancellation. Completion and City acceptance also matter under the instrument.
