What this bond does

Support the local pawnbroker licence under MCL 446.202(4). The obligation is to the governmental unit in its corporate name—in this City file, the City of Flint—not automatically to the State of Michigan. The City approves the instrument.

Who needs it
The person, corporation or firm seeking to conduct pawn lending or purchases with an agreement to sell the property back at the designated Flint location. A precious-metal/gem-dealer or secondhand licence does not automatically exempt an operator from the separate pawnbroker law.
Who it protects
The $3,000 condition backs faithful performance of the business’s duties and payment of costs/damages from violations of the Pawnbrokers Act. It is not all-risk protection for the shop or automatic payment of every customer complaint. MCL 446.204 describes judgment and an execution returned wholly or partly unsatisfied before a private action on the bond.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Prepare the City recipient, premises and accepted execution

The State Act ties the licence to a particular place and makes it nontransferable. Identify the actual applicant and Flint shop address, rather than using another location’s file or substituting a store employee for the licensee.

MCL 446.202(4) specifies at least two sureties and governmental-unit approval. Obtain the City’s accepted form and execution directions; do not assume a single signature meets that statutory wording or substitute another Michigan city’s template as Flint approval.

Use the pawnbroker file’s actual application and dates

Flint’s published licensing instructions direct initial applicants to the City Clerk’s Licensing Division in person with identification. They allow mailed renewals only for certain categories. Check the pawnbroker file rather than assuming a general renewal method applies.

The State Act describes a one-year licence from issuance; the City’s general page also lists different business-licence calendars without assigning this pawnbroker file to one of them. Use the actual accepted dates. Neither source establishes the duration offered by this unlabeled purchase choice.

Keep the purchase separate from City approval

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Compare the actual licensee and premises, $3,000 statutory sum, City of Flint recipient, Act condition, accepted execution and dates before completing it. This choice has no supplied amount or duration label.

Keep the issued instrument for the City’s licensing submission directions. Propeller’s application does not submit the local licence application, approve its sureties or authorize the business to open.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Actual applicant and the particular Flint premises on the nontransferable local licensing file.
  2. City-accepted $3,000 instrument in the governmental unit’s corporate name, with the statutory surety wording and local approval addressed.
  3. Identification and current initial/renewal submission directions from the Licensing Division for this category.
  4. Actual financial dates, distinct from a general business calendar or an assumed one-year product.

Questions about this bond

Should I name the State or the City as recipient?

MCL 446.202(4) says the licensing governmental unit in its corporate name. For this Flint City file, use the City of Flint’s accepted wording; the fact that the requirement appears in State law does not make the State the obligee.

Does my secondhand or precious-metal licence cover pawn lending?

Do not assume that. MCL 446.201(2) expressly says those licences do not exempt a person from the Pawnbrokers Act. Describe lending against pledged goods and any buyback arrangement when identifying the proper licence.

Does one surety signature satisfy the State wording?

Do not assume it does. The statute specifies at least two sureties and local approval. Follow Flint’s accepted instrument and execution directions rather than treating another city’s document or the purchase screen as approval.

Does a customer complaint automatically produce a payment?

No. The Act’s private-action provision describes a judgment and an execution returned wholly or partly unsatisfied before an action upon the instrument. It does not promise automatic compensation or decide a particular dispute.
