Fox Lake, IL — Contractor License Bond

Fox Lake's contractor FAQ requests original $10,000 surety, with separate trade credentials and a plumbing Letter of Intent. Use the Village's actual request before opening Propeller; a property-owner waiver is not a blanket contractor exemption.

What this bond does

Prepare the original contractor surety identified in Fox Lake's requirements, keeping the property-owner route distinct.

Who needs it
Fox Lake contractors supplying the Village-requested security, not an owner automatically assumed to be acting as a hired contractor.
Who it protects
The accepted form defines its secured conditions and Village recipient. The owner waiver allocates responsibility to the owner and is a separate document, not an issued contractor bond.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use Fox Lake's own trade checklist

The FAQ lists original $10,000 surety for electrical, plumbing, roofing and other contractors. Electrical and roofing also supply their license copies; plumbing supplies 055 credentials and a Letter of Intent. Do not import another Village's plumbing bond exception into these posted instructions.

Have the Village confirm the accepted instrument and current class requirements. These are Village submission items, not a promise that the provider demands every registration credential before application.

An owner waiver is a different route

The FAQ separately addresses a homeowner doing their own work, and the posted waiver is signed by the property owner for a subject address and permit. That document does not say every hired contractor can simply waive its security. Ask the Village who qualifies and what the actual request is.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. After issuance, check the $10,000 instrument, legal principal, Village recipient, dates and execution, then follow the original-document direction. Building-permit validity elsewhere in the FAQ is not a duration displayed by this bond option.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Confirm contractor versus owner-performed-work route with the Village.
  2. Have the accepted original $10,000 form and actual dates.
  3. Match the legal principal and Village recipient.
  4. Prepare the applicable trade/Letter of Intent documents separately.
  5. Check issued execution and original delivery before assuming approval.

Questions about this bond

Can any contractor use the property owner's waiver?

The posted waiver is an owner-signed document identifying a property and permit. It does not establish blanket eligibility for every hired contractor; ask the Village about the actual route.

Does Fox Lake's plumbing row omit the bond?

The posted FAQ lists original $10,000 surety alongside 055 credentials and a Letter of Intent. Confirm the current Village request rather than borrowing a neighboring town's exception.

Is a provider receipt the requested original?

No. Check and execute the issued instrument and follow the Village's original-document requirement. Application and Village approval remain separate.
