What this bond does

Indiana Auto Dealer Services lists State Form 53966 for its automobile-auction application. Its current bond requirements call for $25,000 security and the R7/03-24 form, with older versions not accepted.

Who needs it
The applicant for an Auto Dealer Services automobile-auction license. The current program addresses a business whose primary activity facilitates auctions of more than three motor vehicles or watercraft in twelve months; this is not, by itself, a general bid-caller's professional credential.
Who it protects
The form secures the Secretary of State's specified assessments and damages to an aggrieved person after the stated judgment process. Its aggregate liability is capped at the bond sum; it is not an automatic refund for every disputed vehicle or an inventory policy.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the current form and Automobile Auction selection

The shared dealer form has an Automobile Auction checkbox alongside other license classes. Match the actual business and license file; another checkbox or the catalog's auctioneer wording does not identify the correct licensed principal on its own.

The Division warns that the applicant must sign the bond before submission and that a coverage lapse suspends the dealer license. It accepts continuation certificates for existing bonds. Check the issued dates, signatures and current file rather than treating a continuation or license period as a new catalog term.

Purchase Now opens Propeller. Confirm the State form, sum and applicant before applying. For existing bond or insurance updates, the Division requires the online Dealer Portal rather than mail or email; follow the actual new-application directions separately. Provider issuance does not complete State licensing.

Questions about this bond

Is this simply a bond for someone hired to call bids?

The official source is the Auto Dealer Services automobile-auction license program, and its required shared form includes an Automobile Auction checkbox. Match the actual business-license request rather than assuming it is a general individual auctioneer credential.

Can I submit an older dealer form or an unsigned bond?

The Division says older versions of State Form 53966 are not accepted and identifies R7/03-24. It also specifically warns that the applicant must sign before submitting.

Can an existing bond update be sent by email?

The Division states that bond or insurance updates must use the Dealer Portal from October 1, 2024, not mail or email. That update direction should not be confused with every step of a new license application.
