Indiana — DOT Single Highway Permit - Miscellaneous Bond

Identify the specific miscellaneous INDOT activity and single permit before arranging security. INDOT uses this program for work without a more specific permit type; its current bond form combines Miscellaneous / Other in one field, which does not explain the catalog's separate provider offerings.

What this bond does

Security requested for the actual single INDOT miscellaneous State-ROW permit, subject to matching the offering to the accepted instrument.

Who needs it
The legal State permit applicant, coordinated with the organizer, contractor or other party responsible for the particular approved activity.
Who it protects
The current State performance form conditions the covered permit's performance and lawful contractor/vendor/labor claims, with its aggregate and collection-cost provisions. It does not authorize unrestricted road use or guarantee unrelated event obligations.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Describe the miscellaneous activity, not just the work method

INDOT's current miscellaneous program includes geotechnical investigations, agricultural draglines, road/lane closures and public-art or landscaping uses, where another specific type does not apply. Identify the location, purpose, extent and duration. For example, a soil investigation and a fiber installation can both involve boring but need different activity classifications.

Traffic arrangements remain separate. INDOT lists Hold Harmless paperwork for diverting State-road traffic onto city or county roads; confirm the actual detour and local permissions. Purchasing security is not permission to close a State road, redirect traffic onto a local route or occupy adjacent property.

Confirm this offering and file the accepted single-permit form

The current three-page Performance Bond is expressly for single-permit use and has a combined Miscellaneous / Other description field. The catalog separately lists Miscellaneous and Other products. Have the district and issuer confirm the right offering and wording rather than assuming those labels create two legally different State categories.

Purchase Now opens Propeller's Miscellaneous offering; the option displays no fixed amount or term. Supply the actual permit, principal/State recipient, accepted amount, activity description and date. When the current State form is required, complete all three pages, both notarized signature pages and surety power of attorney. Current resources require an EPS PDF plus original signed/notarized documents sent to the relevant district.

The State form becomes effective at the later of its stated date and INDOT acceptance/EPS entry and continues until State release. Obtain the actual permit before the activity and use the district release-request process when appropriate. A scheduled event or closure end date is not itself a bond cancellation date.

Questions about this bond

Is every boring project a broadband permit?

No. The actual purpose matters: INDOT lists geotechnical activity under miscellaneous uses and has a separate Broadband Access program. Have the district classify the proposed work.

How is this different from the separate Other offering?

The actual purchase destinations differ, but INDOT's current form combines Miscellaneous / Other. The official form does not establish a legal distinction between those provider labels; confirm the requested offering with the issuer.

Does an event's final date release security?

Not automatically. The current State form continues until State release. Complete the actual permit duties and follow the district's release instructions.
