What this bond does

Meet the bond portion of Village of Minooka subcontractor registration.

Who needs it
Subcontractors registering their business and trade with Minooka before a project permit can be issued.
Who it protects
This is registration security for the Village's licensing requirement. It does not replace the insurance listed in the application or guarantee completion of a private construction contract.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the subcontractor registration requirements

The Village publishes a separate Subcontractor Registration Application. It asks for a $5,000 original, signed surety bond, a certificate of insurance and a copy of the state license if applicable. Do not choose the general-contractor requirements simply because you work on a general contractor's project.

The subcontractor application identifies the business, owner, trade and job site. It also contains your agreement to comply with Village and State requirements. Have those business and work details ready; the issued bond must match the Village's accepted request.

Apply for the bond, then complete Village registration

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Start with the subcontractor bond request and your legal business name. After issuance, check the $5,000 amount and complete the required signatures before providing the bond for registration.

Minooka's Building Department directs contractor registration through OpenGov and says all trades and subcontractors must be registered before a permit is issued. Follow the Village's instructions for supplying the original signed bond; starting an online registration or uploading a copy does not by itself establish that the original requirement has been satisfied.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Have the Village's subcontractor registration requirements rather than a general-contractor checklist.
  2. Prepare the business and owner details, actual trade and job-site information.
  3. Match the $5,000 bond request and accepted recipient wording.
  4. After issuance, complete the bond's required signatures and provide it as the Village directs.
  5. Complete the separate Village registration before relying on it for a permit.

Questions about this bond

Is this the general-contractor registration bond?

This page is for the subcontractor request. Minooka publishes a separate subcontractor form asking for a $5,000 original, signed bond. Use the registration category that describes your role.

Does buying the bond register my trade?

No. The bond is one registration document. The Village separately requires registration of all trades and subcontractors before a permit can be issued.

Can I assume an uploaded copy replaces the original?

The published subcontractor form asks for an original signed bond, while the current Building Department page directs registration to OpenGov. Follow the Village's instructions for providing that original rather than assuming an upload alone completes the requirement.
