What this bond does

Provide the surety bond requested with Village of Mokena contractor registration.

Who needs it
Contractors preparing the Village's new or renewal registration application for their business type.
Who it protects
The bond supplies security for the registration obligation under the accepted licensing form. It is separate from the liability and workers' compensation certificates the Village also requests.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Prepare the original registration documents

The Village application requests an original surety bond for $10,000 and original insurance documents for each contractor registration form. Enter the business name and business type consistently with that application; its owner information is a separate part of the form.

Mokena also asks for copies of the applicable plumber, sewer, roofer or electrician license. Electrical and plumbing work have additional job-address and letter-of-intent instructions. Those work-specific documents do not turn the registration bond into a permit for an individual job.

Keep bond purchase separate from Village filing

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Apply for the Mokena contractor bond using your legal business identity and the Village's request. Once issued, compare the bond with that request, including the $10,000 sum and the business being registered.

Provide the original bond with the Village registration documents as directed by Community Development. The checkout does not itself complete the registration application or the separate job-specific licensing instructions.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Identify whether the Village registration is new or a renewal.
  2. Have the business name, business type and separate owner information.
  3. Use the Village's $10,000 original-bond request for the provider application.
  4. After issuance, check the document and arrange the original for Village filing.
  5. Keep applicable trade credentials and job-specific letters with the separate municipal paperwork.

Questions about this bond

Does Mokena ask for an original bond?

Yes. The published contractor registration application specifies an original $10,000 surety bond and original insurance documents. Follow the Village's instructions for delivering those documents.

Is the bond the same as the insurance certificate?

No. The application separately lists the surety bond, general liability and workers' compensation documentation. Completing one item does not supply the others.

Does this replace electrical or plumbing job documentation?

No. Mokena's application contains separate supervising-electrician and plumber letter-of-intent instructions tied to the contracted address. The registration bond does not satisfy those documents by itself.
