What this bond does
NRS 697.190 requires the licensing bond to remain in force and comply with NRS 679B.175. It leaves the amount to the Commissioner; the Division's current agent instructions specify $25,000. The secured duty is full accounting and payment to the person entitled to money, property or other matters received through licensed bail transactions.
- Who needs it
- The individual bail-agent applicant, not an unidentified firm or recovery agent. The Division has separate agency instructions; an agency application does not automatically supply its employees' individual qualifications or licensing bond.
- Who it protects
- Although the posted obligee is the People of the State of Nevada, the statutory condition addresses accounting and payment to the person entitled to the property received. It is not a promise to pay every defendant's appearance forfeiture or general insurance for the agent's business.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Questions about this bond
Is the condition limited to cash collected?
No. NRS 697.190 describes full accounting and payment of money, property or other matters received through bail transactions to the person entitled to them.
Can I finish by uploading the bond only?
The current programme directs mailing the original bond to Carson City, and its linked checklist calls for originals of the bond and power of attorney. Confirm and follow current original-document instructions as well as online submission.
Does one agency filing establish every agent's authority?
Do not assume so. The Division separates individual-agent and agency applications, with individual qualifications and separate security instructions. Match the actual applicant and request.
