Nevada — Document Preparer For At Least 26 But Not More Than 75 Registrants Bond

What this bond does

This business-entity bond covers the registrants providing document preparation services for that entity. It is the 26–75 tier, not an individual bond or a separate $75,000 limit for every preparer.

Who needs it
Nevada document preparation business entities employing or contracting with 26–75 registered preparers at the year’s peak. Include temporary and seasonal registrants when matching the tier.
Who it protects
Current NRS 240A.123 addresses damage determined in an action or proceeding from covered registrants’ law violations, wrongful contractual failures, fraud, dishonesty, negligence, or other wrongful conduct. It also secures specified unpaid civil penalties and legal costs owed to the Secretary of State; the aggregate surety limit is the bond sum.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Count the peak roster, not average payroll

NRS 240A.125 uses the greatest number of registrants performing services for the entity at any time during the year. Current law includes both employees and independent contractors, including temporary or seasonal workers; the older employee-only wording on some agency material is not the full current count.

Use the business entity as principal for this tier and identify the covered registrants. Coverage under that entity bond removes the separate individual-bond filing for services provided for that entity; it does not automatically cover a registrant’s unrelated work for another business.

Use the right state template and keep proof current

The Secretary’s application guidance says not to purchase until eligibility qualifications are met and its filing instructions arrive. When instructed, Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Prepare the exact entity, $75,000 request, State of Nevada obligee, peak roster, and effective date. Use the Secretary of State’s accepted template for the 26–75 tier, with current coverage wording.

The posted form runs continuously, but the Secretary of State still asks for annual renewal proof, such as a continuation certificate, without a coverage lapse. Its instructions call for the original signed instrument when a new bond is obtained. Review the issued bond and complete that filing; purchase alone does not register the preparers.

Questions about this bond

Do registered independent contractors count toward 26–75?

Yes. Current NRS 240A.125 includes employed and contracted registrants and uses the greatest number performing services at any time during the year, not the average headcount.

Is $75,000 available separately for each registrant?

No. The posted entity form makes the surety’s aggregate liability subject to the bond’s penal sum. Do not read the tier amount as a separate limit for every person on the roster.

Does a continuous bond eliminate annual renewal proof?

No. The Secretary of State’s published instructions require annual renewal evidence even though a surety form may be continuous. Keep coverage and proof current for the covered registrations.
