Norridge, IL — Contractor License Bond

Norridge's standard contractor registration bond is $10,000 and must name a specific trade. The Village does not accept General Contractor wording; concrete and roofing have a different bond requirement, and the 055 plumbing instruction does not require a bond.

What this bond does

Supply Norridge's standard trade-specific license-and-permit bond where that registration requirement applies.

Who needs it
Contractors registering a trade covered by the Village's standard bond instructions, rather than its concrete, roofing or 055 plumbing instructions.
Who it protects
The Village of Norridge must be named as obligee. This is trade-registration security, not a blanket general-contractor credential or a substitute for the separate insurance certificate.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Choose the trade, not a blanket general label

The 2026 application provides a trade list and requires the bond to identify the applicable trade. Examples include carpentry, masonry and window installation. The form expressly says No General Contractors, so use the listed work category even if your business offers several services.

The standard amount is $10,000. Concrete and roofing require $25,000 instead. Plumbers submit the State of Illinois 055 license under a separate no-bond instruction. Each bonded trade requires its own original document; a generic label does not resolve these distinctions.

Check the registration year's bond instructions

For 2026, Norridge specifies a December 31, 2026 bond expiration, a 30-day cancellation clause and signed, notarized execution. The Village does not accept continuation certificates. Keep that bond-end requirement separate from any assumption about a selectable annual term.

  2. Check that the standard $10,000 instruction applies to that trade.
  3. Have the applicable registration-year requirements and legal business name.
  4. After issuance, verify the Village obligee, trade, expiration and cancellation clause.
  5. Complete required execution and file the separate original for that trade.

Questions about this bond

Can the bond simply say General Contractor?

No. Norridge's 2026 application expressly rejects that wording and requires the bond to be trade specific. Match the actual trade on the registration list.

Is $10,000 the requirement for every contractor?

No. Concrete and roofing require $25,000, and the 055 plumbing instruction does not require a bond. Use the standard $10,000 request only for the registration to which it applies.

Will a continuation certificate renew the Village filing?

The published 2026 instructions reject continuation certificates. They require an original bond for each applicable trade, with the stated December 31, 2026 expiration and execution conditions.
