Oklahoma — Medical Marijuana Grower License Bond

Oklahoma commercial medical marijuana growers must provide OMMA with a bond of at least $50,000 per license or qualifying proof that the licensee has owned the permit area for at least five years. The bond addresses restoration of the growing property. Confirm your renewal or other application can proceed under the current licensing moratorium before arranging it.

What this bond does

Provide the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority with the required security for restoration of the identified grower's permit area, subject to the accepted bond's claim conditions and required sum.

Who needs it
Commercial medical marijuana grower licensees and eligible applicants responding to OMMA's security requirement. Existing licensees may renew during the reported new-license moratorium; a grower bond does not authorize patient-facing retail sales.
Who it protects
The current OMMA form names OMMA as obligee and limits recoverable damages to property-restoration costs. It identifies abandonment, license revocation or a violation notice requiring remedial action as claim circumstances. It is not crop insurance or general customer-refund protection.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details for the permit area and OMMA filing

OMMA states a minimum of $50,000 for each license and may require more depending on reclamation requirements. Its ownership alternative requires an attestation and documents showing that the licensee owned the permit area for at least five years before applying. Five years in business or a landlord's long ownership does not by itself establish that alternative.

The official form requires compliance with the named medical marijuana laws and rules and payment of money due to OMMA, but limits recoverable damages to restoring the property. Examples include equipment removal, waste destruction, environmental remediation, restricting public access, addressing improperly coded buildings and determining the disposition of seized property. Do not treat that wording as unlimited tax, customer or landlord protection.

The form requires written claims to the surety and principal and gives the surety at least 30 days to investigate and respond. It permits cancellation on 30 days' written notice to OMMA and the principal, preserves the distinction between earlier conduct and conduct after cancellation, and bars claims more than one year after cancellation. Aggregate surety liability does not reset for each year the bond remains active. Follow OMMA's advance-renewal directions and provide accepted replacement security or qualifying ownership evidence before the old bond expires.

OMMA's current grower page reports that the new-license moratorium extends to August 1, 2028 unless its Executive Director determines that the specified pending reviews, inspections or investigations are complete. Existing licensees can apply for renewal. Purchasing security does not remove the moratorium, issue or renew a grower license, or authorize retail sales to patients.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Confirm the actual application or renewal is eligible to proceed under OMMA's current licensing process.
  2. Provide the legal licensee name, OMMA license number and precise facility or permit-area address.
  3. Match OMMA's current accepted form and required sum for that license and reclamation exposure.
  4. If using the ownership alternative, obtain the licensee's five-year ownership attestation and supporting title documents.
  5. Coordinate execution, continuation, replacement evidence and filing through OMMA's location-information submission instructions.

Questions about this bond

Does operating for five years remove the bond requirement?

Not by itself. OMMA's alternative requires the licensee to have owned the permit area for at least five years before the application, supported by an attestation and accompanying documents. Verify those facts rather than relying on business age or the landlord's ownership.

Can I obtain a new grower license by buying the bond?

No. OMMA reports a new-license moratorium extending to August 1, 2028 unless the Executive Director ends it under the stated condition. Existing licensees may seek renewal. Confirm the actual application process before arranging security; issuance of a bond is not licensing approval.

What follows Purchase Now?

Propeller's Oklahoma medical marijuana grower application opens in a new tab. Match the legal licensee, license number, permit area, OMMA form, required sum, dates and signatures. File the issued document under OMMA's instructions and maintain accepted security; provider payment does not issue a grower license or confirm an ownership exemption.
