What this bond does

Match the offered bond to an actual Orange County road-opening request. The New York County's process identifies the County road, pavement disturbance and project scope; a Town street-opening requirement within the County is not the same obligation.

Who needs it
Owners, applicants and contractors seeking County highway-work authorization. Prepare the County route, Town, parcel, location, purpose, pavement size and depth, and the parties responsible for restoration.
Who it protects
The County packet requires restoration of roads, shoulders and drainage and correction of later damage caused by the work. Its deposit rules are not proof of the offered surety's accepted wording or term.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

A performance deposit is not automatically a surety

The selected packet describes a certified-check guarantee and performance deposits by bank check, certified check or money order. Its schedule varies security with the activity and scale, and Public Works determines requirements for major work.

Obtain written confirmation that this offered surety is acceptable for the particular request, including the approved form, recipient, principal, amount and dates. A blank “Bond” field on an administrative form does not itself approve substitution for the funded deposit.

Complete plan review before the permit application

The packet requires engineered plans to be reviewed before applying for a driveway or utility permit. The complete package includes the application, approved plans, separate insurance evidence and applicable compliance certifications.

The application distinguishes owner/applicant from contractor and records temporary and permanent patch information. Identify who will restore the affected County property; do not assume a separate Town permit or a deposit in another party's name completes the County process.

Keep issuance, work permission and closeout separate

Only after Public Works confirms the accepted surety should you continue through the existing Propeller application. File the executed instrument as directed and complete the County's separate permit requirements.

The packet prohibits applicable site preparation or utility connections before a valid highway-work permit and requires advance work notice, inspections and completion before closeout. Confirm actual security release rather than assuming permit expiration or bond issuance ends the obligation.

Questions about this bond

Does the County packet automatically accept this bond instead of a deposit?

That has not been established. The selected packet specifies funded performance deposits. Ask Public Works to confirm acceptance of the offered commercial surety before ordering.

Can I use a Town opening requirement for a County road?

Not automatically. Identify the County route and obtain County Public Works authorization, along with any other approvals required for the project.

Does permit expiration release the security?

Do not assume so. The packet addresses completion, inspection, closeout and possible deposit forfeiture separately. Obtain the accepted instrument's actual release conditions.
