Oregon — Commercial Specialty Contractor Level 2 Bond

Oregon CCB lists a $25,000 Commercial Specialty Contractor Level 2 (CSC2) bond. That is the license security, not a $25,000 job-size ceiling. The chart allows the same one-or-two-trade commercial scope as Level 1.

What this bond does

Support the correct business's CCB CSC2 commercial endorsement with the Board's approved surety instrument.

Who needs it
Commercial specialty applicants separating the legal business principal from the people supplying qualifying experience or managing its work.
Who it protects
The CCB Commercial bond secures its determination orders under the written conditions. It is separate from liability insurance and does not guarantee completion or payment on every job.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Name the business, not its qualifying employee

The endorsement chart lists CSC2's four combined years of qualifying key-employee experience and says Level 1 and 2 can perform the same work. Do not substitute a general-contractor endorsement or treat lower security as a construction-value limit; verify the intended trades and qualification with CCB.

The two-page Commercial bond distinguishes entity names: an LLC or corporation uses its entity name only, not the qualifying employee's personal name; sole proprietors and partnerships follow the form's full-legal-name directions. Match the license application and Corporation Division record, $25,000 in both sum fields, bond number and already-issued CCB number if applicable.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Check CSC2 and entity before applying. After issuance, retain the agent signature, attached authority and bond date; new applicants receive the bond/POA to include with their CCB package, reaching the Board within 60 days. The continuous instrument becomes valid for licensing only after filing and completion; dual residential work requires the separately appropriate endorsement and bond.

Questions about this bond

Is $25,000 a maximum project contract value?

No. It is the listed CSC2 bond amount. The chart describes the commercial work scope separately.

Should the LLC bond name its qualifying employee as principal?

The Commercial form says an LLC uses the LLC name only. The business's legal identity must match its application and registry, not be replaced by the employee.

Does one commercial bond cover a residential endorsement too?

No. CCB requires both residential and commercial bonds when both endorsements are held. Confirm the scope and separate endorsement rather than assume one bond satisfies both.
