Oregon — Home Services Contractor Bond

Oregon CCB's Home Services Contractor (HSC) endorsement is for service, repair or replacement under a home-services warranty agreement. Its current required security is a $15,000 Residential bond, not a general license to offer every handyman service.

What this bond does

Support the business's restricted CCB HSC endorsement on the Residential Surety Bond.

Who needs it
Home-warranty service businesses matching the actual agreement-based activity and legal applicant.
Who it protects
The Residential form secures payment of CCB determination orders under its written conditions. It does not itself supply the customer's warranty agreement or replace liability coverage.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Make sure Home Services describes the business

The endorsement chart limits HSC to work under home-services warranty agreements and says it can perform no other contractor activities. A business doing ordinary remodeling or general repairs should confirm the appropriate endorsement rather than select HSC because its name sounds broad.

The current chart specifies a $15,000 Residential bond. Use that CCB form with the exact legal applicant/entity name, existing CCB number if already issued, bond number and sum in both places. The form has different name rules for sole proprietors, partners and companies; an LLC principal is its entity name, not an employee's.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Match HSC, actual warranty work, entity and accepted $15,000 form before applying. After issuance, check agent signature/authority and date. New applicants receive the bond/POA for their CCB package; both must reach the Board within 60 days. The bond is continuous but is not valid until filed and licensing completed.

Questions about this bond

Does Home Services mean unrestricted handyman or remodeling work?

No. The current chart limits HSC to service, repair or replacement under home-services warranty agreements and bars other contractor activities.

Should HSC use the Commercial bond?

The chart calls for a $15,000 Residential bond for HSC. Use the accepted CCB form for the actual endorsement.

Does the bond create my customer's warranty agreement?

No. Its written purpose is CCB determination-order security; the actual warranty agreement and separate insurance are different obligations.
