What this bond does

BOLI's Labor Contractor Bond, WH-157, concerns full payment of employee wage claims and specified advances made to or on behalf of the contractor. This is not inherently a union benefit-fund request.

Who needs it
The labor contractor license applicant whose BOLI request calls for this financial-responsibility instrument. Identify the actual license kind and legal applicant before completing the bond application.
Who it protects
WH-157 names the Commissioner of the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries as obligee. Its advance-payment condition concerns sums due to the construction property owner, agricultural grower/producer or timber-land owner/lessee for advances made to or on behalf of the contractor.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Prepare the BOLI form and license details

BOLI's published packet supplies WH-157 and its WH-157A instructions. Principal wording depends on the legal structure and licensing applicant; a business name alone may not supply all required individual/entity entries. Use the current Licensing Unit request rather than assuming one company entry covers every licensee.

The application asks for the maximum employees expected during the next twelve-month license period and whether a camp operator indorsement is sought. These and the applicable status/reduction or exemption instructions affect the required security. Do not select a sum merely from an ordinary payroll total.

WH-157A calls for the bond to cover the license term and expire on the last day of a month. WH-157 states that it is irrevocable during its stated period. Match those dates and required execution with the actual license application rather than assuming a fixed provider term.

Questions about this bond

Is this only a union fringe-contribution bond?

No. BOLI's WH-157 addresses wage claims and the specified advances. Do not supply an assumed union or benefit fund instead of the Commissioner named by that form.

Can I assume a reduction or exemption?

The packet describes conditional routes, not automatic eligibility. Use the current Licensing Unit instructions for your license and applicant; this page does not determine qualification.

Is this a project payment bond or ERISA fidelity coverage?

Those concern different undertakings. BOLI financial responsibility is also distinct from employee insurance; the bond application does not replace other required licensing documents.

How do I start?

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Provide the actual BOLI request and applicant details. After issuance, complete required execution and submit the instrument through BOLI's licensing process. Applying for a bond neither issues the license nor establishes BOLI acceptance.
