Poplar Grove, IL — Right Of Way Bond

Poplar Grove lists a ROW bond in its new-home guidance and directs applicants to Title VI, Public Ways and Property. Obtain the Village's actual security instructions before applying; the building checklist does not supply the bond's amount, form or term.

What this bond does

Security requested under the Village's applicable public-ways obligation for the actual Poplar Grove work.

Who needs it
The legal applicant the Village requires to provide security, coordinated with the owner and contractor responsible for the proposed work.
Who it protects
The accepted Village instrument defines the secured public-way duties. A new-home checklist reference is not proof of a whole-project completion guarantee.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the public-ways request, not a guessed building amount

The Village's Building Codes and Guidelines page places the ROW bond reference under New Construction Homes, alongside construction/site/grading plans and utility-location responsibilities. It points to Title VI rather than printing the bond conditions. Ask the Village which current provision and accepted form apply to the actual road/parkway work, who must be principal and recipient, and what amount and dates are required. Do not invent those details from the house permit or project value.

Keep parkway-tree permission and security distinct

The same Village page says parkway/ROW trees are the Village's responsibility and that planting or removal needs a permit reviewed by the Public Works Director. That separate tree-permit instruction does not establish that every tree request uses this bond. Explain the actual activity and confirm the work boundary and authority before applying.

Purchase Now opens Propeller; the option displays no fixed amount or term. Send the actual Village request to the issuer, confirm the instrument and legal parties, then arrange issuance and accepted filing. Bond purchase does not replace utility-location responsibilities or Village permission to perform the work. Obtain the actual inspection, restoration and release instructions rather than assuming annual renewal.

Have these ready

  1. Village request identifying current Title VI public-ways obligation and actual work location/activity.
  2. Accepted bond form, required legal principal/recipient, amount, dates and confirmed provider match.
  3. Owner/contractor roles, applicable site/work plans and utility-location arrangements.
  4. Separate work/tree permissions where applicable, bond filing, inspections and actual release conditions.

Questions about this bond

Does the new-home checklist state the bond amount?

No. It directs applicants to Title VI, Public Ways and Property. Obtain the current accepted form, amount and dates from the Village rather than guessing from building value.

Does a parkway-tree permit automatically establish this bond requirement?

The Village separately requires a permit for planting or removing parkway trees and Public Works Director review. Confirm whether security is required for your actual activity; the tree instruction alone does not establish it.

Can I start after purchasing the bond?

No. Arrange the Village's actual filing, work permission and utility-location steps separately. The issued bond is not itself authorization to dig or alter the parkway.
