What this bond does

Provide the security requested for applicable Will County Land Use contractor registration, including work in unincorporated County areas.

Who needs it
General contractors and subcontractors applying under the actual County role and trades, outside the application's express bond exceptions.
Who it protects
The bond identifies the contractor type and trades and is payable to the County of Will. County registration security does not automatically replace a municipality's request or a project's separate performance/payment bond.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Match the registration role and listed trades

The current-linked application distinguishes General without trades, General with trades and Sub Contractor. It says hiring a subcontractor requires registration as a general contractor. The bond must identify the contractor type and trades actually being performed.

Its bond clause expressly excepts plumbing and fire alarm contractors. Do not assume every other credential-bearing trade shares that exception. Business, DBA and owner information are separate; match the accepted legal principal rather than replacing it with the contact person.

Keep the original-document requirement separate from online permits

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. After issuance, check the business, $10,000, County naming, trades, dates and execution. The County requires an original with a blue- or black-ink wet signature, not fax, email, copy, stamp or electronic signature.

The department's SmartGov portal supports permitting and document submission, but it does not erase that original-bond instruction. Registration expires December 31, and the application warns that expired required insurance, bonds or trade licenses can revoke registration.
