Willowbrook, IL — Contractor License Bond

Willowbrook's posted commercial build-out checklist places a $10,000 surety bond under the electrical permit requirements. That document does not establish a blanket bond requirement for every contractor using this page.

What this bond does

Help match the actual Willowbrook trade and permit request before applying for a contractor bond.

Who needs it
Contractors checking whether their written Village request is the electrical surety item or a different obligation.
Who it protects
Use the accepted form for the actual Village request. A contractor's insurance certificate, the supervising electrician's permit signature and private-project performance security have separate purposes.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Keep the $10,000 item in its electrical context

The checklist, effective July 1, 2019, places a municipal electrical license, insurance and $10,000 surety bond under the electrical permit application. It also asks for the supervising electrician's signature on that application.

Its plumbing section instead describes a plumbing permit, State credential and company letter of intent. The instruction for insurance from listed contractors is broader than the electrical bond item. Do not convert those separate lists into one universal surety requirement.

Confirm the current request and issued document

Before applying, have the current trade-specific request, accepted form, legal applicant, recipient wording, required sum and dates. The contractor-license label alone does not show that a general contractor needs the electrical checklist's document.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. After issuance, check and complete the document's actual execution requirements, then provide it through the Village's applicable registration or permit process. The provider application is not the signed electrical permit.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Identify the actual trade and current written Village request.
  2. Check whether the $10,000 electrical checklist item applies.
  3. Prepare the requested legal applicant, form, recipient and dates.
  4. After issuance, verify and execute the document; complete the separate Village filing.

Questions about this bond

Does the commercial checklist require a bond from every listed contractor?

Its $10,000 item is under the electrical section. The broader listed-contractor insurance instruction is not the same bond instruction.

Is the supervising electrician's application signature the bond signature?

The checklist attaches it to the electrical permit application. Follow the accepted bond form for bond execution.

Can I assume this document proves a general licensing mandate?

No. Confirm the current requirement and form for the actual applicant and trade before proceeding.
