Woodridge, IL — Contractor License Bond

Woodridge's requirements assign $10,000 surety bonds to particular contractor categories, not one blanket general-contractor package. Match the actual trade and permit-applicant role before applying.

What this bond does

Provide the Village-payable surety security requested for the actual Woodridge contractor activity.

Who needs it
Electrical, blacktop/concrete/paver, water/sewer and applicable permit-applicant excavation contractors with the stated bond request.
Who it protects
The published bond items are payable to the Village. They are separate from insurance and credentials, and do not automatically secure completion or payment under every private contract.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the right trade and applicant row

The page and handout both list $10,000 for electrical, blacktop/concrete/paver brick and water/sewer contractors. Electrical applicants also provide a municipal Illinois license in good standing.

Excavators are typically under the general contractor, but their separate permit-applicant row includes the $10,000 bond. The similarly worded HVAC applicant row lists insurance, not that bond. Do not transfer the excavation checklist to HVAC or every general contractor.

Separate document delivery from permit pickup

The Village allows contractor requirement documents by mail, fax or email. Its posted instructions separately say permits must be picked up and signed for at Village Hall rather than mailed.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. After issuance, verify the legal contractor, actual requested $10,000 sum, Village naming, dates and execution. Supply the applicable contractor documents and complete the Village permit process; the provider application is neither filing nor signed permit pickup.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Identify the actual trade and whether the contractor is applying for the permit.
  2. Match the requested bond and applicable credentials, not an adjacent trade row.
  3. After issuance, check the business, sum, Village naming, dates and execution.
  4. Supply contractor documents and complete separate permit pickup/signing as instructed.

Questions about this bond

Does every general or HVAC contractor have the same $10,000 requirement?

The published rows do not say that. Use the actual trade and applicant role instead of borrowing another row's bond instruction.

Is the electrical credential a statewide electrical license?

The Village calls for a license from an Illinois municipality and evidence it is in good standing.

Does emailing contractor documents deliver my permit?

The posted instructions allow emailed documents but separately require permits to be picked up and signed for at Village Hall.
