What this bond does
Provide the professional fundraiser's Attorney General-approved security under Alabama Code Section 13A-9-71.
- Who needs it
- The person or business compensated to plan, conduct, manage or carry on charitable solicitation, or independently engaged in that business. A professional solicitor retained by the fundraiser has a separate registration; a charity's exemption does not by itself establish the fundraiser's exemption.
- Who it protects
- The statute and posted combined model run to Alabama's Attorney General for the state and persons with causes of action for solicitation malfeasance or misfeasance. The model undertakes $10,000 and binds principal and surety jointly and severally. It does not insure the charity's fundraising target or replace the fundraiser's statutory duties.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Questions about this bond
Does the fundraiser's registration also register its paid solicitors?
No. Alabama distinguishes the professional fundraiser running the campaign from the compensated professional solicitors it retains. Those solicitors have a separate registration requirement.
Does a part-year start move the expiration date?
Registration is for a year or part of one and expires September 30. Use the actual registration and security dates and prepare renewal rather than measuring a full year from checkout.
