What this bond does

Provide the annual right-of-work security described in Huber Heights' published excavation and restoration bond.

Who needs it
Contractors arranging City-authorized improvements within Huber Heights rights-of-way and easements under the City's bonded-contractor process.
Who it protects
The form protects the City and qualifying private property owners and addresses compliant construction, defective work, indemnity and legal labor, material, machinery or equipment claims. Its precise conditions govern; this is not a general guarantee for every private project.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the City's annual right-of-work form

Engineering's forms page links the Bonded Contractor Form, titled Annual Excavation and Restoration Bond and Bond for Right-of-Work. It states a $25,000 sum and a one-year period ending on the bond's anniversary date.

The form concerns improvements in City rights-of-way and easements, whether contracted with the City or a property owner. Match the legal principal and accepted document rather than interpreting Right of Work as an employment-related bond.

Read the repair, payment and notice conditions

The form requires compliance with law and City specifications, addresses defective workmanship or materials during the applicable guarantee period, and includes legal claims for labor, materials, machinery and equipment. It states a guarantee period of at least one year from acceptance and also a one-year public-right-of-way defect warranty after initial City approval.

The City must receive 30 days' written notice of cancellation or termination. The form says the authority described in it ends one year after execution unless a new right-of-way work bond is provided. Do not confuse that anniversary with automatic release of warranty or earlier-work obligations.

Complete the bond and work-permit steps

Continue through the existing Propeller application with the City's form and confirmed details. Review and submit the issued instrument as Engineering directs.

Engineering lists right-of-way, tap-in and other permits separately. Confirm the applicable permit and submission process for your activity; issuance of the annual bond does not approve each excavation, connection or improvement.

Questions about this bond

Is Right of Work an employment bond?

Not this offering. Huber Heights uses that title on its annual excavation and restoration bond for improvements in City rights-of-way and easements.

Does the form protect only the City?

It also identifies property owners making qualifying private contracts with the principal and includes legal labor and material-related claims. Review the executed form's full conditions.

Does the annual date end the repair warranty?

Do not assume so. The form separately addresses a guarantee period of at least one year from acceptance and a public-right-of-way defect warranty after initial approval.

Will purchasing the bond issue a permit for each job?

No. Engineering has separate work-permit processes. Confirm and obtain the permit for the proposed excavation, tap-in or other improvement.
