Illinois — Professional Fund Raiser Bond
Illinois directs professional fundraisers with access to or control of raised funds to file the $10,000 CS-6 undertaking. Its term ends the next June 30, and the form expressly calls for a separate bond rather than a continuation. Prepare the actual term and registration package before treating an earlier year's document as sufficient.

What this bond does
Provide the professional fundraiser's CS-6 security with Attorney General registration where the business has access to or control of raised funds.
- Who needs it
- The professional fundraising business identified on the registration statement and charity contracts. The Bureau separately registers employed professional solicitors and provides a distinct consultant application; those filings do not substitute for the fundraiser's security.
- Who it protects
- CS-6 benefits Illinois's Attorney General for the state, charitable purposes and persons with causes of action for solicitation malfeasance or misfeasance. Its condition requires faithful, honest and lawful fundraising, compliance with the Solicitation for Charity Act and indemnification of covered losses. Recoveries may continue until the single $10,000 aggregate is exhausted; the first claim does not automatically void the undertaking.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Have these ready
- Explain the fundraiser's access to or control of raised contributions.
- Match the professional fundraiser principal to PFR-01 and its charity contracts.
- Arrange $10,000 CS-6 security for the actual start date through the next June 30.

- Prepare the registration/contract/solicitor attachments and keep annual campaign reporting separate.
Questions about this bond
May I submit a continuation notice instead of a separate CS-6?
The currently posted CS-6 expressly states that it is a separate bond and not a continuation of a previously issued bond. Arrange the Bureau-accepted document for the actual term rather than assuming a continuation notice from another state works here.
Is every individual solicitor the principal on this fundraiser bond?
The fundraiser business is the CS-6 principal. The registration instructions separately require PS-01 for each employed solicitor. Match those people and the business to their actual filings instead of replacing the business principal with the charity or a solicitor.
