What this bond does

Provide the professional fundraiser's required security under N.D.C.C. Section 50-22-02.1 for filing with the Secretary of State.

Who needs it
The covered person or business providing paid fundraising services, named exactly as the registered entity or individual. The client charity is not substituted for that principal; its own registration or applicable exemption must also be checked.
Who it protects
The statute runs security to North Dakota and persons with causes of action for liabilities from the principal's activities subject to Chapter 50-22. The fundraiser is the principal obligor, with one or more responsible sureties providing at least $20,000 in aggregate security for the full registration term. A qualifying rider to a larger blanket undertaking is permitted.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details for SFN 11303 and September 1 renewal

Use the exact legal name on the entity's organizing documents, certificate of authority, trade-name record or other applicable Secretary of State registration. SFN 11303 asks for the business structure, principal office, fundraising methods, records custodian, relevant personnel and charity contracts. Initial entity filings and good standing are separate from the fundraiser registration.

Attach the required $20,000 undertaking with the fundraiser as principal and the full Chapter 50-22 protected condition. More than one surety document may supply the required total. Confirm the accepted instrument's dates and execution so security remains effective throughout registration; a provider purchase receipt does not supply the undertaking.

SFN 11303 itself must be signed by the registrant or authorized officer and notarized. That application acknowledgment is separate from whatever signing instructions apply to the accepted surety document. Include the required contracts and disclosures rather than sending only the security.

Registration expires September 1. To continue, file the new registration before that date and provide the continuation certificate the Secretary's programme requires. Keep that annual evidence with the actual registration period instead of assuming checkout creates twelve months of authority.

Charity contracts must describe the services and whether contributions will ever be in the fundraiser's custody. Submit subsequent contracts within ten days of execution. The current form directs mailing and gives a fax route; it expressly says not to email the document or payment authorization because of private information. Follow the form's current delivery directions.

Questions about this bond

Is this filing only for someone who personally asks donors for money?

No. SFN 11303's instructions include covered paid planning, management, advice, consultation and preparation of solicitation materials. Describe the actual service before assuming the registration and security requirement does not apply.

What security evidence accompanies annual renewal?

The Secretary's programme requires the new registration each year and a continuation certificate for the surety bond. Security must remain effective for the full registration term; renewal is due before September 1.
