Tennessee — Certified Public Weigher License Bond
Match this Tennessee entry to the actual certified-public-weigher request. The Department of Agriculture lists weigher licensing separately from serviceperson and service-agency licensing; a scale-repair business description is not enough to identify the right file. Before using The Southern Agency’s option, obtain the Department’s current financial condition and applicant, recipient, amount and date instructions.

What this bond does
Use the actual weigher licensing request rather than assuming that operating a scale, repairing it and issuing certified weights are the same activity. The Department’s current public guidance directs licensing questions to its Weights and Measures Section. The accepted financial instrument for this entry remains unconfirmed.
- Who needs it
- The named weigher applicant or representative assembling the actual Tennessee licensing file. Confirm whether the instrument names the individual rather than the employer or scale operator; the business location alone does not identify the principal.
- Who it protects
- Covered duties, protected parties and claim terms need the Department’s actual accepted condition. They are not established by its public licensing-contact page. Do not treat this entry as general device-repair or shipment-liability coverage based on the broad weights-and-measures category.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Questions about this bond
Is this the same file as a scale-service business registration?
Do not assume so. The Department lists weigher, weighmaster, serviceperson and service-agency licensing separately. A broad weights-and-measures label does not establish that the named public-weigher applicant repairs equipment. Match the actual credential and duties in the Department’s request.
Can an agricultural weighmaster request be substituted?
The 2016 State opinion discussed certified public weighers and agricultural bulk-commodity weighmasters under different statutory provisions. That is not proof that their current financial instruments are interchangeable. Obtain the actual Department request for the credential named here.
Does the purchase entry establish an amount or duration?
The public option has neither label. The current Department pages also do not supply the accepted financial condition reviewed here. Confirm the current instrument and dates rather than copying another State’s weigher amount or using a scale-inspection schedule.
