What this bond does

Secure Trinity County's collection of commercial cannabis taxes and related interest and penalties under Chapter 3.26. It is a County tax obligation, separate from State cannabis licensing and crop-abatement security.

Who needs it
Trinity County commercial cannabis cultivators preparing initial licensing or renewal security. Have the actual operator, County license list and cumulative licensed area available so the Tax Collector can confirm the required sum.
Who it protects
The published ordinance requires a current bond in favor of Trinity County. After an assessment remains unpaid through the designated time and available appeal windows, the Tax Collector may execute the bond to collect Chapter 3.26 tax, interest and penalties. This does not give every customer a direct claim or guarantee a grower's crop.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details for Measure G, cumulative area and filing proof

Chapter 3.26.160 in the County's published Ordinance 3157 requires a cultivator's bond or cash deposit of $0.50 per square foot of the cumulative square footage of County cultivation licenses the person holds. Obtain the Tax Collector's confirmation for the actual operator and complete license list.

The County's May 28, 2025 memorandum requires acceptable bond or cash-deposit proof before initial issuance or renewal and directs applicants to the Treasurer-Tax Office for assistance. Chapter 3.26.160 calls for filing with the Tax Collector; the memorandum also requires proof received by the Cannabis Division. Coordinate both rather than treating a provider receipt as completed County licensing.

Chapter 3.26.170 allows the Tax Collector to execute the bond after an unpaid assessment, the designated payment time and all available appeal windows. Keep the County's accepted tax condition and actual covered cultivation licenses clear. State licensing, environmental compliance and any separate destruction or site-restoration obligations require their own review.

The ordinance requires the security to remain current. Confirm the actual undertaking's effective period, continuation and execution instead of assuming the license renewal calendar releases it. The March 1, 2021 date in the original ordinance is historical; use the County's current filing request and licensing deadline.

Questions about this bond

Is the required sum based on just one site?

The published ordinance uses $0.50 per square foot of the cumulative square footage of County cultivation licenses held by the person. Obtain the actual operator's license list and the Tax Collector's confirmation rather than assuming a separate flat sum for each location.

Is this crop-restoration or State licensing security?

The County's Chapter 3.26 bond backs commercial cannabis taxes and related interest and penalties. Match that actual tax undertaking. A State license or separate environmental requirement does not establish that the County tax filing has been satisfied.
