Wisconsin — Professional Fund-Raiser (Non-Custodial) Bond
Wisconsin's $5,000 CRED203 is for a professional fundraiser that will never have custody of contributions. A check payable to the charity can still create custody if your business holds it. Review the entire collection and delivery process before selecting the non-custodial condition.

What this bond does
Provide the non-custodial professional fundraiser's $5,000 security under Wisconsin's Chapter 202 registration requirements.
- Who needs it
- A compensated professional fundraiser whose work never involves custody of contributions. A fundraiser that will hold contributions at any time needs the custodial route; advice-only fundraising counsel has its own registration category and undertaking.
- Who it protects
- CRED203 binds the principal and its representatives to Chapter 202, Subchapter II and applicable rules/orders. It covers amounts owed to DFI and persons with causes of action for covered professional fundraising liabilities or statutory violations. All claimants share a single $5,000 aggregate; non-custodial does not mean the business has no solicitation responsibilities.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Questions about this bond
Does a charity's name on a check make my business non-custodial?
Not by itself. DFI's custody distinction includes holding contributions such as checks payable to the charity. Describe the actual receipt and handling process before choosing the $5,000 never-custodial route.
Does the $5,000 aggregate renew for every claimant?
No. CRED203 limits the surety's aggregate liability for all claims to the stated sum. It also has specific cancellation, retained-liability and written claim-notice provisions; use the complete undertaking when assessing a claim.
